Denise Herrmann-Wick receives an emotional message of love

Denise Herrmann-Wick ends her active career in biathlon. Shortly before her last performance, the DSV athlete now receives an emotional message from her Thomas. In a long Facebook love letter, the former cross-country skier pours his heart out to his wife.

Thomas Wick and Denise Herrmann: The couple met for the first time at a cross-country training camp in December 2007 – and were promptly classified as partners: “Coincidence? Certainly, but the beginning of an incredible journey together. We explored the world together and shared so many emotions. I look back all too fondly,” Wick recalled on Facebook. “I can count myself lucky that I have been able to accompany you on your way for so long and have been able to learn so much from you.”

The training camp was not only the first step to the love of her life, it was also the cornerstone of an extremely remarkable career. After switching to biathlon, the winter sports enthusiast picked up one gold medal at the Olympics and two at the World Championships, all with Thomas by her side. The wedding followed in September 2022.

The German will have more time for marriage in the future. But there are definitely worse things to do with a partner who is so supportive of his wife. “The best thing on the way with you is watching how you develop as a person and personality, but never forget to live. You have always stayed true to yourself, enjoy banalities like vacuuming, and have infected everyone with your pop craze. You move people, you carry them away – you’re just yourself,” the 31-year-old praises his spouse.

“Cross-country skiing and biathlon have had their fair share for a long time”

“What a phenomenal journey! I think 11-year-old Denise would be very proud of you! Words cannot describe how much you have inspired and motivated me. I am filled with pride. For now, I look forward to a great finish in Oslo before Hopefully we can spend more time together. Cross country and biathlon have had their fair share for a long time.”

The answer from his “better half”, who commented on the post on Instagram, is no less enchanting: “With you, no hurdle is too high! Thank you for your boundless love and help on all levels!”

But not only the 34-year-old is touched by the kind words, the couple’s fans also react emotionally: “You have to shed a few tears right away,” writes a user
