The German sporting goods supplier Puma presented the Puma Nitro Lab last week.
The Nitro Lab is a test facility for high-performance athletes and was developed in cooperation with Hartmann Orthopädie & Sport GmbH, Puma announced. The test facility is located at the Hartmann site near Frankfurt am Main.
With force measurement plates in the tartan track and in the artificial turf, pressure measuring soles, high-speed cameras and body sensors, detailed performance and movement analyzes can be created for the athletes there. The results are then used to develop individual and tailor-made shoe adjustments for the athletes.
“Puma strives to learn from external experts who provide new perspectives and fresh insights that challenge our thinking and encourage innovation in our products. Hartmann Orthopädie & Sport is the perfect partner as they have been working with top athletes for over 20 years to minimize the risk of injury and optimize performance through testing and adjustments,” said Romain Girard, Senior Head of Innovation at Puma, in the statement.
In the future, Puma’s top athletes should visit the Nitro Lab regularly for performance tests and analyses. Italian Marcell Jacobs, reigning Olympic champion in the men’s 100 meters, was one of the first to use the test facility. However, the Nitro Lab is also open to the public.
