The Italian Supercup will be held four times in Saudi Arabia in the next six years.
Serie A also decided on Monday to expand the competition into a Final Four tournament with two semi-finals and a final. The finalists of the Coppa Italia and the top two in Serie A will take part. In the event of an overlap, the third in the table would move up.
However, the format can still change: The final four variant has been decided for the coming edition, after which a return to only one final game is possible depending on the capacity of the game calendar.
“The next two editions will be held in Saudi Arabia, then there will be a two-year hiatus in which the tournament can be played elsewhere and then it will return to Saudi Arabia for another two years,” said Luigi De Siervo , CEO of Lega Serie A
The contract for the next season is worth 23 million euros. The Supercup was already played in Saudi Arabia in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022.
