Young AZ had a number of chances against Heracles Almelo, but still lost. Ismail Azzaoui and Rigino Cicilia scored the goals: 2-0. The game didn’t start until 8:45 PM, as the field was not playable at 8:00 PM.
The start of the game was therefore three quarters of an hour later than expected. Young AZ was not sharp and quickly faced a backlog. Ismail Azzaoui took advantage of this and shot the 1-0 behind Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro. After that it was mainly Young AZ that got chances.
Loek Postma was close to the equalizer after fifteen minutes. He extended a free kick, but the ball went just wide. A long shot from Ricuenio Kewal was saved by Michael Brouwer. Kewal and Mexx Meerdink still had opportunities to equalize before the break, but Brouwer was again a spoilsport.

As many chances as the Alkmaar promises got before the break, so few were created in the second half. Iman Griffith scored an important achievement after eighty minutes, but Brouwer caught the ball in his hands. Rigino Cicilia still made it 2-0 in the final phase and thus plunged Young AZ into mourning.
Young AZ is in ninth place in the first division due to the defeat. Roda JC, the opponent of Telstar, is the opponent of the Alkmaarders on Monday.
