Bergamo-Brescia Capital of Culture 2023: the events

dtwo cities merged into one to become the Italian Capital of Culture. Seven years after Mantua the title returns to Lombardy.

Bergamo-Brescia, here is the Capital of Culture 2023

And, for the very first time, it is awarded to two cities together, Bergamo and Bresciatwo provinces united by the will of grow up togetherbut also to offer a remarkable calendar of appointments.

The illuminated city” is the name of the project for this special year which officially began on Saturday 21 January, with the inauguration ceremony in the historic centers of the two cities, and which will obviously continue throughout the year.

The art on display

Starting right from art, after a long period of closure, the Museum of the Risorgimento of Brescia with the name of Museo del Risorgimento Leonessa d’Italia. Inside it collects about a hundred finds, including paintings, sculptures, flags, etc.

And through digital content it will be possible to admire documents, photographs, prints and drawings. They will be part of the exhibit too some masterpieces from the Brescia collections.

Cecco del Caravaggio in Bergamo
