Maija Vilkkumaa gives her coaching colleagues new nicknames.
A dear child has many names. Maija Vilkkumaa also confirms it today on Nelose, when The Voice of Finland moves to Duels after the new The Cut phase.
They will be the first to take the stage Tony’s and Sipe’s team Maiju Kauppinen and Heikki Pöyhä. Messrs Wirtanen and Santa Claus have to reject the other, as only one singer can continue in their team. Maija thinks she knows which one the Apulanta duo will take with them on the trip.
– I believe that Simppeli and Tomppeli will choose Heiki, Maija makes everyone present laugh with her new, less flattering nicknames.

Both Sipe and Toni already have nicknames. Toni often calls his bandmate Mr. Sipe on the show, or Mister Saip when pronounced in English. It has followed Sipe for a long time.
– The name is the basis of our performances abroad, Sipe tells Iltalehte about Mr. Sipe’s background.
– For our own fun, we have done a European tour and performed in the USA. The name has been left by an English-speaking person from those trips.

If we’re being precise, Sipe is of course also a nickname. The first name of Apulanta’s drummer is Simo Johannes Santapukki.
– Sipe was invented by Toni in 1991 or 1992, the man recalls.
He, on the other hand, sometimes calls Toni Tonza.
But how do Tonza and Mr. Sipe react to a little banter and the nicknames Maija gave them? Joking along with others. The two do not take themselves too seriously in front of the TV cameras or anywhere else.
