Bob Odenkirk confirmed via Twitter yesterday (March 8) that he will be starring in a remake of 2003’s The Room. Directed by Brando Crawford, who created “Acting For a Cause” and wants to use the film to raise funds for AIDS research. He also publicized the casting of the Better Call Saul actor through an Instagram post from the shoot.

“It’s true. It is true. And let me assure you, I did everything I could to SELLE each set as honestly as I possibly could… and I had a GREAT TIME,” Odenkirk tweeted, confirming the rumors that have been going on for several weeks.

The film was originally directed by and starring Tommy Wiseau and has achieved widespread popularity over the past 20 years. Originally intended as a tragedy, the involuntarily funny independent project is now regarded as one of the worst films of all time – but fun nonetheless.

As early as 2017, James Franco dealt with Wiseau and “The Room” in his film “The Disaster Artist” and was nominated for an Oscar as the leading actor.

The remake does not yet have a release date. Representatives of Wiseau haveVariety“ assures that until now nothing was known about the production and nobody had approached the actual author of the film.
