Jane’s Addiction presented a new song at a concert on March 5th in Bakersfield, California. “True Love” will most likely be featured on a new album by the band. Singer Perry Farrell confirmed in December last year that they were planning new music – of which the first track has now been presented:

“But before that, we want to give you something very special […] We leave you with a brand new song that no one has heard before. You guys are the first. It’s called ‘True Love’,” the singer announced the encore before bassist Eric Avery started the ballad. Guitarist Dave Navarro will continue to be replaced due to his ongoing health issues with Long Covid. Josh Klinghoffer, ex-guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is on stage for him.

Farrell, Avery, Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins played together from 1986 to 1991. Avery returned to the band last year, but the reunion could not take place with the full team strength due to the guitarist’s illness. ‘True Love’ marks the band’s first new song since 2013’s ‘Another Soulmate’. Singer Farrell also features on the Sleaford Mods’ ‘So Trendy’, which was released last Monday (March 6).
