Carlo Boszhard gets a big blow from Youp van ‘t Hek. The comedian thinks Carlo’s TV show Married At First Sight has no chance. “This is just sad scam television.”
It’s over for Married At First Sight: yesterday the grand finale of the program was shown on RTL 4 and 908 thousand people watched it. Not really high when you consider that RTL Boulevard is really used every day to advertise, but according to the channel, most people watch on-demand. “A total of 2 million people are watching!”
Lead role bruises
Whoever does not belong to that viewer group is Youp van ‘t Hek. In his VARA guide column, the comedian lashes out quite hard at Carlo and his wedding program. He calls it ‘healthy hoax’, because according to him it is impossible that the candidates are real. “Those are hired b-actors.”
Youp also does not trust the psychologists who participate in the show in which singles first get married and then get to know each other. “No psychologist lends himself to that nonsense, right? At the start of the season, Peter van der Vorst calls a second-hand casting agency on behalf of RTL and orders the leading role bruises.”
Scam TV
The storylines are too strong to really believe, according to Youp. “The script says he has to tell her that she, who is a made-up driving instructor, cannot drive a car. To which she angrily pulls the handbrake in the middle of the highway. At one point she has to throw a glass of wine in his face.”
“I like this kind of sad scam TV that should never stop. The people want f**ked, the people get n**ked. I would like to look at it for a minute.”
