3rd league: Dynamo Dresden brings back Ulf Kirsten as an advisor to the board

Ulf Kirsten returns to Dynamo Dresden in an official capacity. The 57-year-old is now an advisor to the board of the third division club, for which the former top striker played 180 games in his active career before moving to Bayer Leverkusen, where he ended his career in 2003.

“I am really looking forward to this new, exciting task at Dynamo Dresden. In all these years, the contact and the great bond with the club, where everything started for me and with which I was able to experience so many beautiful moments as a player, have never been broken. Now, in close cooperation with those responsible, I would like to do my part and contribute my experience and connections to set the course for a successful future,” explained Kirsten, who is honorary captain at the SG, with whom he won two championships and three cups in the former GDR celebrated.

Sports Managing Director Ralf Becker added: “As has been emphasized several times in the past, I think it makes perfect sense and I very much welcome it to bring such a deserving former player like Ulf Kirsten back to Dynamo. He knows the club very well, is a great idol for countless people in Germany and has a lot of specialist knowledge and a wealth of experience. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
