BZIO opens renewed swimming pool after renovation
Renewal of the swimming pool
BZIO has been active for almost 100 years and the swimming pool was due for renewal. Everything has been meticulously renovated, something that patient Marc Browns agrees: “That swimming pool has completely changed. It used to be just a large circle with a number of beds in the water and physiotherapists. It now looks more like a swimming pool here.” Patients come from all over the country for specialized rehabilitation.
Various rehabilitations
According to director Nick Marlein, the rehabilitations are very diverse: “That means that we focus on everything from the skeleton and muscles. That is why we still see people today after hip or knee prosthesis surgery.” BZIO also focuses on neurological rehabilitation. For example, they treat spinal cord injuries and non-congenital brain injuries or neurological damage after traffic accidents.
Expensive renovation
In the Royal Villa, another department, the BZIO invested in more comfort for patients and staff, which includes 400 medical specialists. The renovation will cost 10 million euros.
