Proposal to cut back significantly with Eva Jinek: ‘Once a week’

Eva Jinek is faced with a proposal to significantly reduce the number of episodes of her talk show. “Why not just once a week, on Friday evening?”

Eva Jinek’s ratings are under pressure, according to critics because the broadcasts take so long. Viewers have to allocate so much time to her conversations at the table that they no longer even tune in. “An hour and a half, I believe, right?”, says Telegraaf star Pim Sedee in the section What does Jan think.

Jink too long

Pim also thinks it’s a bit much. “She now had Mark Rutte visiting and then you first have to see through the prime minister and then you also have to talk about Flemming and Alexander Klöpping was still there. That is a lot.”

Colleague Jan Uriot, star journalist of Privé, agrees. “You may have to cut it. It is a lot and long and the viewer should feel like it. You don’t feel like that every night. That’s why I think, Pim: why don’t we just go back to once a week?”

Once a week

Jan likes Jinek once a week. “Eva once a week on Friday evening, for example, to talk through the week and put on a top show, as it used to be with Sonja Barend. I’m not saying we should go back to old times, but maybe that’s the solution. Just not every night.”

It is too much, Jan thinks. “You also see it with Arjen Lubach. It used to be once a week and now it happens almost every day. Then you also think as a viewer: well, I can skip it for once. Then it no longer works. You have to make the viewer hungry. Once a week, which we do, is fine.”

Does he expect his advice to be followed? No. “Peter van der Vorst will listen to me…”
