Meanwhile, more and more details of the escape are emerging: Hans-Joachim F. wanted to visit a model shop in Berlin to do some shopping. He earned the money for this by working in the correctional facility. And even set up a giro account for himself in 2021.

He paid 500 euros a month to the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse. “That’s common, because the detainee has to be prepared for life after preventive detention,” said Ariadne Ioadimakis, spokeswoman for Brandenburg’s Minister of Justice Susanne Hoffmann (63, CDU).

But the killer escaped on the “shopping” tour – although he was accompanied by two people. But where was the prison guard actually going to the toilet? “He was in the toilet area,” said the spokeswoman on request.

BZ learned: One of the guards relieved himself, right next to Hans-Joachim F. The occupational therapist, who was with the woman killer on the Berlin excursion, was in the women’s toilet at the same time.

Anna R. (33) also lives in the house of sex offender F.:

Hans-Joachim F. was “finished” with his business first and left the toilet alone. And immediately ran away! How do his companions explain that? “Because of the ongoing investigations against the officials, we can’t say anything about that,” said the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Justice.

In general, however, the following applies: “The detainee must be under constant and direct supervision. For toilets, ensure that leakage is prevented.”
