Live NH Sport with Heracles – Telstar and Willem II – Jong Ajax

Halfway through the competition, Heracles was still the leader in the first division and Telstar was number ten. Remarkably enough, the people of Velsen have since taken more points (11) than the Almelo people (7), who have also been put at a considerable disadvantage by PEC Zwolle. In short, Telstar is anything but without a chance in the away match against Heracles tonight. You can follow the game live on NH Radio.

Telstar is chasing the dream of qualifying for the play-offs for promotion to the premier league for the first time since 2018. That the team of trainer Mike Snoei last week against Young PSV at 1-1 stuck, was a disappointment.

goals

Especially the lack of goals breaks up Telstar. With only 26 goals, the White Lions have the second least productive team in the first division after Helmond Sport. For comparison: Heracles could make the supporters cheer no less than 66 times this season. In the first match against Telstar it was a party three times. After a rough first half Heracles won that game 3-0.

Snoei cannot rely on the injured Anwar Bensabouh and the long-term disabled Yaël Liesdek. For the rest, the selection is complete. Heracles – Telstar starts at 8 p.m. Erik-Jan Brinkman reports from Almelo.

Last week Heracles spilled points against Willem II (1-1) and that team is the opponent of Jong Ajax tonight. The Amsterdam reserves are having a difficult season. Last Monday, after ten (!) games without a win finally won again. That happened in-house against MVV Maastricht (4-2).

Dave Vos on the couch

A nice boost for Dave Vos who made his debut as a trainer on the bench. The 39-year-old coach finishes the season as the successor to John Heitinga, who has been transferred to Ajax 1. Earlier this season Jong Ajax – Willem II ended in 1-2.

The Amsterdam reserves occupy fifteenth place in the ranking; Willem II is ten places higher. Direct promotion is a long way off for the tricolores, but via the play-offs the Tilburgers have a chance to return to the premier league next season. Old acquaintances at Willem II are Erik Schouten (ex-Volendam), Leeroy Owusu (ex-Jong Ajax). Former Volendam player Nick Doodeman cannot be used due to a knee injury.

Tobias Sana

The only time the two teams met in a competition was on March 30, 2014. Tobias Sana gave the Amsterdam reserves the lead early in the game, but after ninety minutes the final score was 7-1.
