Lidl, Jumbo, Plus and Aldi will stop offering free plastic and paper disposable bags for fruit and vegetables this year. The supermarkets want the use of reusable bags to become normal as soon as possible.
That means bring your own bags or buy a reusable bag every time in the supermarket. This is already the case at supermarket Albert Heijn. The chain banned disposable bags last year.
The change should result in annual savings of more than 100 million plastic bags and more than 10 million paper bags. Do you still think it is necessary for disposable bags to be available in the supermarkets? Or can you really provide a reusable copy yourself? Respond to today’s statement here.
