Good dress rehearsal for Vandeputte at BK indoor

The 800m is the highlight of the BK indoor, with a duel between Tibo De Smet and Eliott Crestan. De Smet has the fastest European annual time to his name. He and Crestan are the medal contenders at the European Championships in Istanbul. Crestan leads from start to finish and beats De Smet, albeit not in a top time. Aurèle Vandeputte runs second for a long time, but eventually finishes third. Hopeful for the EC.

The European Championship limit on the 400m is 52 seconds and 20 hundredths. But with 53.23 Helena Ponette from Ostend is still a bit above that. She comes fourth. No European Championship for her, not even with the relay team.

Maite Beernaert wins gold in the long jump with a jump of 5m98. Laura Ooghe is second. Rani Vincke from Gistel is third in the 60m, but her time of 7.40 is not enough for the European Championship. The title belongs to Rani Rosius.

Michael Obasuyi drops out for the 60m at this BC, he is still suffering from an injury. And Adrien Devriendt is also not taking action, just like Lindsey De Grande. Lore Quatacker takes silver in the 1500m.
