A real treat in the Europa League

Barcelona and Manchester United are playing in the Europa League playoffs this season. The toughest match in the opening round of the Europa League playoffs is Barcelona–Manchester United. Normally, we are used to seeing these teams higher up the ladder, i.e. in the deciding stages of the Champions League, but for this season United did not reach the Champions League at all and even Barcelona remained third in their own UCL starting group, after Bayern Munich and Inter took the two further places. Even in the Europa League, Barcelona and United had bad luck when they faced each other in the opening round. The strength of both sides in this competition is illustrated by the fact that, even though the other’s sky will inevitably end immediately, in the championship odds, Barcelona is the second favorite and United is the third favorite.
