A drunk driver collided with a police car on Monday night around half past two. This happened at the carpool place on the Nerhoven in Gilze, near the A58. Officers wanted to check on the man, but after he saw them, he continued to lurch into the carpool area.
The officers gave him a stop sign after which he reversed the car and collided with the service car at high speed. When the driver was taken out of his car, it turned out that he could not stand on his own two feet.
He was taken to the police station. The man had consumed nearly five times the legal limit of alcohol. His driver’s license has been confiscated and he must report to the court.
The man has previously been convicted of driving under the influence. “He will face a tough sentence,” the police write on Facebook.
