NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – UN Secretary-General António Guterres considers the limitation of global warming according to the specifications of the Paris climate agreement to be increasingly hopeless. The restriction of heating to 1.5 degrees can only be achieved in a “miraculous way”, Guterres said on the Tuesday before UN Security Council in NYC.
The head of the United Nations spoke before the most powerful UN body about the dangers of rising sea levels. The situation could get completely out of control if the temperature rises by more than two degrees.
