Yeni Malatyaspor, one of the Spor Toto 1st League teams, conveyed its request to the TFF to withdraw from the league due to the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 10 provinces.
The statement made by Yeni Malatyaspor is as follows:
As it is known, Malatya, like many of our cities, has been affected by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Kahramanmaraş. In the face of this disaster that deeply affected our city and our country, life in our city has come to a standstill.
At the same time, our goalkeeper Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan passed away in this earthquake. While our pain is still fresh and we are busy healing our wounds, we are not thinking of playing football. In this case, there is no suitable environment for playing football in our city.
In line with the decision taken by our Board of Directors, we have conveyed our request to the Turkish Football Federation to withdraw from the league.
