Design outlet platform BestSecret offers brands a way to sell excess stock.
In addition to the wholesale business, the online retailer will in future also enable selected brands to sell their excess stocks directly to BestSecret’s closed customer base on the new “Curated Platform”, the Aschheim-based company announced on Wednesday.
BestSecret offers brands the opportunity to keep control of their inventory, their margins and their product presentation and also to get in direct contact with the customers of the platform.
The offer will run parallel to the previous best-secret online shop, which was designed for wholesalers, and will be seamlessly integrated into it. So far, the platform is only available in Germany, but since the soft launch of the offer, numerous brands are said to have come on board. The range of brands is to be rapidly expanded and extended to all 27 countries in which BestSecret ships, according to the announcement.
The company’s business model is based on a private customer base. In order to gain access to the platform and insight into its offers, interested parties must be invited by an existing member. According to Aschheim, this should preserve the exclusivity of the brands and create a clear distance between full-price and off-price fashion on the Internet.
