And they are ready to take back the scene from the most important stage in Italy: that of the Ariston. Theirs is one of the most anticipated returns to Sanremo 2023. In fact, 16 years have passed since they triumphed at the Festival in the young category with Friends like before. Now, after a long absence from the music world, they’re back to where it all started with the song Fury.

«Without the public who called us out loud maybe we wouldn’t be here, it was magic» say the Iezzi sisters about their reunion and about return to San Remo. An unplanned return but wanted by the many fans who have never forgotten their catchphrases, from Festival to Vamos a bailar. «A strange thing happened to us, never happened before. We felt such a huge outpouring of love and affection from people all over ItalyPaola tells Amadeus. And their presence at the 73rd edition of the Festival is the answer to so much affection and to the great desire of the public.
Fury: the new song
The duo performs among the big names with the song Fury. Which already in the title contains the idea of leaving a mark and not going unnoticed. «It is a song that can be done listen to at any time of the day and is suitable for any mood, says Chiara, the blonde sister of the duo. «I listen to it imagining myself getting ready in the mirror for a fun evening with friends» explains the brunette Paola. An evening in which to make a splash, then. The same thing that the Iezzi little sisters are ready to do on the Ariston stage.
The story of Paola and Chiara
The pop duo of the Milanese sisters was born together with 883: in the early 90s, in fact, Paola and Chiara are Max Pezzali’s backing vocalists and his group. The success comes after the victory of Sanremo in ’97: since then the Iezzi sisters have climbed the charts by participating in the Festivalbar it’s at A record for the summer. They conquer the public and critics until 2013, the year in which the last album is released, Jungle. Then the two separate. Initially they try a solo career, then each one takes her own path. Paola followed the musical path by reinventing herself as a DJ, Chiara, on the other hand, moved on to acting.

The reasons for the separation
Until recently, neither of the two had revealed why, at a certain point in their careers, Paola and Chiara decided to separate. Only recently, after an impromptu concert in Milan that rekindled fans’ memories, did Paola return to the subject. «We decided to close as there was such tensionsuch nervousness … we simply couldn’t keep up anymore »explained the singer between the Stories of Instagram. Pointing out: «We were no longer traveling at the same pace. You can’t always have both the same enthusiasm. At a certain point one doesn’t stop believing in it, but he can’t take it anymore ». Therefore, no disagreement between the two but only the need to disconnect. A separation that lasts for years and which ends with a reunion in Sanremo.
