Dyantha Brooks thinks that her colleague Frits Huffnagel has gone too far. The presenter of Shownieuws lectured him quite a bit yesterday. “Well, I find this very intense and inappropriate.”
It was quite spicy last night in the Shownieuws broadcast on SBS 6. During an item about Jaimie Vaes and her violent ex-boyfriend Jorik Scholten, expert Frits Huffnagel gives an opinion that is so frank that presenter Dyantha Brooks intervenes. She means business; she even seems to be cooking inside.
Adoptive parents
It all starts when Natacha Harlequin speaks highly of Jaimie and Jorik’s parenthood. “I really believe that as a mother, but also Lil Kleine as a father, they really love their son very much and really want the best for their child. I am really convinced of that. I don’t know either of them.”
It results in a huge sigh from colleague Frits. Natacha: “Yes, and you’re done with that.”
Frits then unsaltedly: “Yes, that really makes me tired. Well, I wish that boy adoptive parents, who love him very much.”
‘Act normal!’
Frits’ suggestion that both Jaimie and Jorik are bad parents and should be replaced, goes down the wrong way with his female colleagues.
Natacha shouts very loudly: “Well, act normal, dude!”
And Dyantha visibly annoyed: “Well, I find this very intense and inappropriate.”
Frits insists: “This is not normal at all, is it?”
Natacha: “I’m really shocked that you say that. How so?”
‘People make mistakes’
Frits stands by his opinion. “These are people who are responsible for a three-year-old child and they are handling it this way. That’s not normal, is it?”
Dyantha pissed off: “Then what do you mean by ‘this way’? Jaimie’s candor?”
Frits: “No, the quarreling, blackening each other, giving interviews, lawsuits. If it was really about this child, this would have been resolved long ago.”
Natacha: “They are also emotions and people make mistakes. That applies to Jaimie and that also applies to Jorik.”
“Do you realize?”
Dyantha decides to give her colleague a chance to say sorry. “Do you realize what you are saying, Frits? I just want to double check that.”
Frits surprised: “Yes. Fine. Fine. I have it very clear.”
Natacha: “Children are really best off with their parents. Frits, dude, jeez.”
Dyantha, who is good friends with Jaimie’s house interviewer Robbert, decides: “We’ll move on, we’ll move on.”
