The British cult rocker Ozzy Osbourne has canceled his long-planned and repeatedly postponed tour of Europe and Great Britain for health reasons.
“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to say to my loyal fans,” the 74-year-old wrote on his social channels on Wednesday. “As you may all know, four years ago this month, I had a serious accident that injured my spine.”
Since then, his only goal has been to get back on stage. But while everything is fine with his singing voice, he is still not doing well physically.
In his long statement it was also suggested that he might not be able to go on tour anymore, at least with performances in many different cities. “I never thought my days on tour would end like this. My team is currently working on ideas for how I could perform without having to travel from city to city and from country to country.”
The fact that he has to disappoint his fans is killing him, he wrote. The planned concert dates have already been postponed several times in the past. Five concerts were planned for this year in Germany.
The musician thanked his family, his band, his crew, his “longtime friends” in heavy metal band Judas Priest, who he wanted to tour with, and his fans.
