Frits Huffnagel became very emotional during the Shownieuws broadcast last night. He cried when it came to his good friend Willibrord Frequin. “We’re moving on quickly.”
Yesterday Willibrord Frequin was the center of a real media event in Laren, where his new book was presented. One of those present was Frits Huffnagel, who in front of the camera of De Telegraaf even though he started to cry. In the evening he did that over at the Shownieuws desk.
worst friend
Frits told extensively about the book at the desk. “It has turned out to be a very beautiful book about one of the most striking people who have produced Dutch television. I also say in the book: ‘He actually introduced a new kind of television making, namely bazooka TV.’ There was no escaping it.”
How is his relationship with Willibrord? “He’s just an incredibly loyal man, an incredibly loyal friend. I’ve known him for over 25 years and if you don’t hear from you for a little too long, you get an app and it says: ‘You’re my very worst best friend!’”
Frits is full
Natacha Harlequin asked Frits what he thinks of Willibrord not expecting to live much longer: “If you see him like this now, is he sad? Or not?”
Frits: “Yes and no. The energy just flows out of his body. You also notice it when you call. We actually call shorter and shorter, his voice is getting softer, so it was very nice that he could at least be there and that a monument has been erected for this monumental man.”
Then Frits shoots full and he can no longer speak. Natacha: “Ah, gosh.”
Tooske Ragas: “We’ll keep going, okay?”
How can I make this…
Albert Verlinde then had a ‘how can I make this about me?’ moment. “Yes, we’re going to do something fun, Frits! And so it is! We’re going to put Ireen Wüst in the spotlight! I have to say: you have it now, but I don’t know what it was this morning: I started crying after Ireen won. It will be in the air today.”
“I do not know how it happened. I thought: what is that?! Normally you’re just happy, but a kind of emotion came over me. Maybe that’s the bad time we live in.”
