Demand for vehicles with alternative drive is increasing
Statistics from the Federal Motor Transport Authority show that demand for electric cars has also increased over the past year. The proportion of new registrations of petrol-powered vehicles fell from 34.2 percent in the previous year to 32.6 percent in 2022. Declining demand can also be seen in the diesel car segment, in which the number of new registrations fell by 9.9 percent year-on-year. Declining sales figures for vehicles with pure combustion engines are offset by increased demand for vehicles with alternative drives. As reported by the Federal Motor Transport Authority, the number of new registrations of hybrid vehicles and purely battery-powered electric cars has risen by 9.9 percent and 32.2 percent, respectively. Manufacturers are reacting to this development and are expanding their range in the field of electromobility. In 2023, numerous new models from different manufacturers will be launched, and among them are some vehicles that are likely to arouse the interest of a large target group.
VW ID.7
Volkswagen is delivering an interesting novelty for 2023 with the VW ID.7, which can be seen as the electric counterpart to the new VW Passat, which is also to be presented in 2023. The VW ID.7 will be available in two different versions, reports AUTO BILD. While, according to information from AUTO BILD, the model variant with rear-wheel drive offers between 148 and 204 hp, customers can also opt for a vehicle with all-wheel drive and between 265 and 299 hp. Furthermore, the ID.7 will probably be superior to its predecessors ID.4 and ID.5 in terms of range, which AUTO BILD estimates at around 620 kilometers.
Audi Q6 e-tron
The German manufacturer Audi is expanding its range as planned in 2023 with the all-electric Audi Q6 e-Tron. With a range of between 500 and 700 kilometers, an output of between 400 and 600 hp and an innovative 800 volt quick charge function, the vehicle will position itself in the upper price segment, reports n-tv. However, interested consumers may have to wait a little longer until the model is available. As reported by n-tv, the market launch planned for 2023 could be delayed by a year because the development is taking more time than originally planned.
Opel Astra Electric
In all likelihood, the Opel Astra will be available in a fully electric version for the first time in 2023. While the electric Astra will probably hardly differ visually from its combustion engine counterpart, some technical backgrounds are already known. As AUTO BILD reports, the all-electric Astra is equipped with the same drive as the Peugeot e-308, which also comes from the Stellantis Group. This has an output of 156 hp and can achieve a range of around 400 kilometers with the 54 kWh battery.
