At the end of the afternoon a car ended up next to the road on the N34 near Odoorn. The driver got stuck in his car, after being freed he was taken to hospital by an ambulance.
It is unknown how the car came off the road. The car came to a stop over a ditch along the provincial road. The fire service was able to free the driver from the plight.
It is probably an accident involving a delivery van. This one has damage and is a few hundred meters away. The N34 was closed in the direction of Gieten. This created a traffic jam several kilometers long.
