Strong performance of the German ski jumpers in Sapporo. Katharina Althaus wins the competition. Selina Freitag flies in sixth place.

Katharina Althaus won the first competition of the World Cup weekend in Sapporo. After a jump of 122 meters in the first round, she managed the longest jump of the day in the final. With 131 meters, the woman from Oberstdorf made the victory clear and clearly relegated the competitors in the Olympic city of 1972 to their places. For Althaus it was the eleventh success of her career.

Second place went to the Slovenian Ema Klinec on Saturday (07.01.23). Austria’s top jumper Eva Pinkelnig was third.

Friday shines sixth

Selina Freitag was able to shine with a strong sixth place. Pauline Hessler was 17th, Anna Rupprech 19th and Luisa Görlich rounded off the good team result with 21st.
