Dionne Warwick and Dolly Parton recorded a gospel song together. The song is called “Peace Like a River” and was penned by the country singer.

Parton sent the soul singer a song to record. During this contact, she also suggested the duet. “I’ve done so many duets over the years, but this one is going to be very special,” Warwick said on The Tamron Hall Show. “I’m really looking forward to it.” The song is the first collaboration between the musicians.

For the 82-year-old, it was basically “destined” that there would be a duet one day. There is a family connection between the musicians. Warwick’s cousin Whitney Houston covered Parton’s song “I Will Always Love You” for the film “Bodyguard”.

Warwick had her breakthrough as a soul singer in the 1960s. In recent years she has increasingly worked with other musicians. In 2021 she recorded the song “Nothing’s Impossible” with Chance the Rapper, among others. She also expressed her desire to go into the studio with Taylor Swift.
