King Charles is looking for a new “butler” for his Royal banquets

Rand Carlo begins 2023 looking for new staff for his Royal homes. In particular, he wants to make sure that the many state banquets and official occasions he is preparing to host at court throughout the year run smoothly. And that’s why he started looking for a trusted assistant who works according to strict guidelines already established in the days of Queen Elizabeth.

King Charles is looking for a new ‘butler’

Interviews have already begun at Buckingham Palace and the successful candidate will have to follow all the stages of preparation for any event at court which includes the organization of meals and snacks. Therefore not only state banquets and official dinners, lunches and afternoon teaafternoon tea for important guests, but also all the daily meals of King Charles and his queen consort Camilla, making sure that everything goes smoothly and that every dish arrives at the table according to Royal standards.

The assistant in charge of Purchasing and Administration (Procurement and Administration) will be responsible for the pantries of the Royal kitchens and for the purchase of the ingredients used for each meal at court, including those of the staff. This because the new sovereign wants all his employees to always eat healthy at the table. To this end, everything – from meat, fish and vegetables, to the salt, spices and herbs used in the kitchen – must be chosen according to organic standards approved by the sovereign.

A lot of luxury but also an eye to savings

To be able to guarantee the use of ingredients that have that freshness and quality that Carlo likes so much for himself and his VIP guests, during the course of the year the new “butler” will keep in touch with all the usual external suppliers at the court and will also look for new ones. However, it will be imperative to always keep in mind the savings plan put into action by the sovereign, in times of financial crisis also for the Royal coffers. The budget, simply put, under King Charles is very limited.

King Charles requires good taste at the table

The role, of great responsibility, requires a great passion for cooking and catering, as well as knowing how to use the computer and being accustomed to meeting continuous and precise deadlines. Best if you are also familiar with ordering food and drinks on a professional level. And above all, you have to show that you have good taste – essential to guarantee the high quality standards of the sovereign.

Movements will be the order of the day

The chosen one will work at frenetic pace for 40 hours a week, working with a team occupying an office at Buckingham Palace. The days, they warn at court, are never the same and the new “butler” will have to be ready to move without notice, spending a minimum of two months a year in other Royal residences, from Balmoral to Windsor and Sandringham. Always, however, in close contact with King Charles.
