The police fired a warning shot during the arrest of a man from Groningen on Tuesday evening.
That was because the man did not cooperate during his arrest, a police spokesperson explains.
“Colleagues were notified that a vehicle with a suspicious person had been spotted. The man from Groningen was arrested at the Aan het Voormalig Klein Poortje (around the corner from the Damsterdiep) but did not cooperate. He did not follow the instructions he was given and then my colleagues fired a warning shot.”
The man was then arrested.
