Dune area in Wenduine is being redeveloped

In this way, the Flemish government, together with the municipality of De Haan, wants to ensure better recreation and new walking and cycling paths in the area. Mayor Wilfried Vandaele: “The entire zone will be redesigned. New paths. A watchtower. A larger car park below and the animal park will also become a real park with a large work of art.”

The footpaths are being redeveloped so that they are also more accessible with a wheelchair or pram. Also nearby are petanque fields and playground equipment. The safety of cyclists is also guaranteed with a new cycle path for recreational users. All together, the area up to the small animal park is about 1,500 square meters.
