The speed specialists are in demand again and will follow the weather forecast with interest. The wind has been a mean competitor so far and put the riders’ patience to the test on the descent. The Swiss Marco Odermatt won the last Super-G before the Winter Games. The best German was Romed Baumann in fourth. Let’s see if he finds the ideal line again. Dominik Schwaiger will not be able to start after his fall in the Olympic downhill.
From 7:30 a.m. – Snowboard: Parallel giant slalom women/men
Will the German raceboarders continue their success story at the Olympics? Ramona Hofmeister, who won bronze in Pyeongchang, is also one of the hot favorites for precious metal in Beijing. Stefan Baumeister, Carolin Langenhorst and Melanie Hochreiter also have the best chances of taking something countable home with them. Just like Hofmeister, all three have already been on the World Cup podium this winter. Qualifying begins at 3:40 p.m.
From 9.30 a.m. – Biathlon: Individual men
In biathlon, the first individual decision is made in the men’s competition. In the individual over 20 km it is all about the shooting. If you miss a target, you get a penalty minute, there are no penalty loops. The German starters need a great day to be able to take part in the medal race. The top favorites come from Norway and France. Benedikt Doll, Johannes Kühn, Erik Lesser and Roman Rees will be at the start for Germany.
