One is currently one of the strong men in the German Football League (DFL). The other should be boss at the DFB.
Axel Hellmann (51) worked successfully with Fredi Bobic (51) at Eintracht for five years. Now Hellmann, currently also DFL interim managing director, is campaigning for Bobic as DFB sports director and thus the successor to Oliver Bierhoff.
In the club podcast “Eintracht vom Main”, the Frankfurt boss says: “Bobic, as a new strong man at the DFB, would be an important component of success in order to win the EM 2024.”
After the national team dropped out early at the World Cup, the DFB has to reposition itself for the European Championship in their own country. According to Hellmann, Bobic would be the right person for this. Hellmann demands: “We should focus more on performance again.”
