New month, new streaming offer on Amazon Prime Video. In January, the provider will once again be adding a few new series and many new films to its program. TECHBOOK reveals what’s new to see.
Amazon is one of the largest video streaming providers out there. Prime customers of the online retailer can not only use free premium shipping for EUR 89.90 per year or EUR 8.99 per month (then can be canceled monthly), they also have two streaming services, Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Prime Video to disposal.
So that Amazon Prime Video can keep up with competitors like Netflix and Disney+, the provider expands the selection of series and films every month. The company also produces its own content under the Amazon Originals name. TECHBOOK reveals which new films and series Amazon Prime Video customers can look forward to in January 2023. It should be noted, however, that the offer can be expanded by Amazon at any time.
New series and seasons on Amazon Prime Video in January
German Crime Story: Tied Up (Season 1) – from January 13th
The first German true crime series from Amazon Prime Video will start on the streaming service in January. A dedicated woman wants to track down the perpetrator in Hamburg, who later became known as the acid barrel murderer.
Hunters (Season 2) – starting January 13
The long-awaited second season is also the last of the series “Hunters”. So we can expect an epic showdown between the hunters and the Nazis. It’s all about finally tracking down Adolf Hitler in South America and revealing the true identity of Offerman (Al Pacino).
The Legend of Vox Machina (Season 2) – starting January 20th
The animated series is based on the well-known role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons. Behind the ominous name Vox Machina hides a team of seven heroes who experience adventures together.

James Gunn’s remake of Suicide Squad sends a new anti-hero squad into the ring. In addition to Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, we see Idris Elba as Bloodsport and John Cena as Peacemaker, among others.

The series and films mentioned above are included in the Amazon Prime subscription and are therefore available to customers free of charge. Apart from that, there is a variety of other content that can be borrowed or bought for a fee. If you rent a film, it is available to you for 30 days, but not indefinitely. After the first start of the content, it remains in the digital video library for only 48 hours.
