The 36-year-old Lindy from Schijndel, who got married on Saturday in the hospital in Den Bosch, died on the evening of Christmas Day. She got married in a hurry on Saturday morning, because it was not sure whether she would make it to Christmas.
There in the hospital chapel she herself walked the last meters to the love of her life, Manuel, to be connected in eternity. According to her family, Lindy passed away peacefully.
Lindy suffered from muscle disease and a heart condition. She was actually supposed to get married in January, but when the hospital called that she might not survive the night, a wedding was quickly arranged.
Comedienne Christel de Laat, also from Schijndel, connected the two in marriage on Saturday. “It touched me so much that in such an emergency everyone drops everything out of their hands to make it an unforgettable moment at all costs. This is the Christmas feeling in tenfold. Together you really make the difference.”
