It is important that the reintegration of sick employees goes as smoothly as possible. Part of this is the conversation between the employee and the employer.

In the ministerial regulation, which will be available from December 22, 2022 on the website Internetconsultatie.nl, it is arranged that employees and employers are obliged to record the vision on the reintegration when drawing up the joint action plan, adjusting it and the first-year evaluation. This change is a formalization of current practice and is intended to promote the discussion about reintegration between employee and employer. The intended implementation date is July 1, 2023.

It is also arranged that UWV can continue to receive the data about the health of the employee with the WIA application for the implementation of the WIA claim assessment. The intended implementation date depends on the entry into force of the bill whereby the medical advice of the company doctor about the capacity of the sick employee will be leading in the assessment of the reintegration efforts. At that time, the UWV will no longer include the medical data in the RIV test, but they will continue to be important in assessing the right to a WIA benefit.
