Work on the viaduct over the Van Iddekingeweg in Groningen completed faster than expected

The work on the viaduct over the Van Iddekingeweg in Groningen has been completed faster than expected. The road was reopened to vehicular traffic on Tuesday. That was actually supposed to happen next Friday.

Anyone who came over the Van Iddekingeweg in recent weeks saw that work was being done on the deck of the viaduct on the Overwinningsplein side. Concrete has been poured. In addition, part of the ornamental stone strips has been placed. The work is necessary in connection with the widening of the A28.

Car traffic could not use the viaduct during the day during the past few weeks. Cyclists could pass. According to Aanpak Ring Zuid, work will continue on the viaduct in January. The underpass will then remain open to traffic. The most important work on the viaduct will probably be completed by the end of March.
