New every month: our new large music express playlist for streaming!
For each issue there is a newly curated playlist with the song recommendations of the ME editorial team. Here you can listen to the music that we tell you about in the magazine while you are reading.
For those readers who don’t want to do without our exclusive CD, it will continue to be available in the ME subscription (which, by the way, can be canceled at any time).
WEYES BLOOD – Grapevine (Radio Edit)
Music that caresses the soul and is nevertheless brutally honest: the songwriter sings in super-smooth folk songs about the (emotional) chaos of our present. The best antidote to alienation and the dark maelstrom of algorithms.
JOHN MOODS – Such A Thrill
Romance without kitsch: the indie pop of the German-Polish Berliner by choice is wonderfully wistful and thoughtful and sails on the warm waves of 80s soft rock. Music that envelops you softly – as a protective shield against cynicism.
NINA HAGEN –16 tons
The German punk rock godmother is back and brings an old American folk classic to the year 2022. With her distinctive, deeply vibrating voice and desert-dry electric guitars, she gives weight to the social criticism of miners.
GHOST CAR – Selfish, Spoiled
The girls are (not) alright. The girls are angry. The quartet from London makes loud, colorful garage punk with a portion of glam, a lot of political awareness and their hearts in the right place.
LEFTOVERS – Faces
Teenage Angst in 2022: The debut album by the Viennese band is programmatically called KRACH, but it is much more: it is proof of how rousing and poetic punk rock can be in the digital age.
TOM LIWA – Live In New York
Tom Liwa is a singer and songwriter, but above all a storyteller. The songs on his new record are like short stories set to music. Words and streams of thought interwoven with blues and folk.
And much more…
Enjoy listening!
