The search for the story behind the mysterious plane for Ingeborg comes to an end on Sunday evening. A man has reported to Omroep Brabant and says that Ingeborg is the love of his life. He let the plane take off for her after a big fight. The two would be separated.
Many people from Brabant have been searching since Saturday for the answer to the question: who is Ingeborg and why should she forgive someone? The plane with the banner was initially spotted over Breda, but dozens of tips soon came in about other places from where the message for Ingeborg could be seen. This is how people saw those above Etten-Leur, Hoogerheide, Hank, Oosterhout and Nispen. People also saw the plane outside our province, for example in Veenendaal, Dordrecht, Hulst and Apeldoorn.
Many Ingeborgs even reported to Omroep Brabant, but all with the same message: “This can’t be for me”. Eventually two tips come in from people who say they know that it is an Ingeborg from Hulst, in the south of Zeeland. “This couple has been separated for a few weeks,” says one, “and he really wants her back.”
That story seems to be true. The love of Ingeborg from Hulst emails Omroep Brabant on Sunday evening to say that he is the ‘guilty’ for letting the plane take off. He wishes to remain anonymous and tells his story briefly. “She is and was the love of my life. In the sixteen years that we have been together, we have been through so much,” writes the man in question.
The story is not easy to explain, he continues. Due to work pressure, he would have been too little for her during a difficult period. “We have faced many obstacles and overcome them together. And one day it was roughly torn apart by me. With pent-up frustration an argument broke out and I said many wrong things. I am very sorry.”
To show how sorry he was, he would have let the little plane with its banner fly around. “I showed her what she means to me and that I sincerely regret the mistakes I made. That came across clearly, a little more than expected even.” The man wants to leave it at that. “What she needs now is rest.”
Whether Ingeborg has forgiven him is therefore still a question. According to a second tipster, Ingeborg does not want to respond to the action, but the expression of regret would have been received positively. “I don’t know if it will be okay, because that’s another story,” said the tipster.
