Record cup winner Kiel got off to a bad start and quickly fell 4-1 behind the Lions with their new coach Ljubomir Vranjes (6th). Driven on by top star Sander Sagosen, the guests got into the game better and took the lead for the first time at 7:6 (17th).
The strong hosts kept the encounter open until the final phase, even if they struggled against the strong Kiel defence. But the nerve-racking THW had the better end for itself.
