F. Garden confession from Max Kruse! Without Liverpool… – Last minute Fenerbahce news

Max Kruse, who transferred from Werder Bremen to Fenerbahce on a free transfer in the summer of 2019, explained why he could not transfer to Liverpool. Max Kruse said: “I was going to sign a contract with Liverpool in the summer of 2019, when my contract with Werder Bremen expired. We have been on the phone with Jürgen Klopp since February. It was like I was transferred to Liverpool, only the signature was missing. It would be the pinnacle of my career. However, things developed very differently.”

The German player said, “The duo of Sturridge and Origi was going to be sold, I was going to sign. That was their plan. Then Origi started scoring many goals in the last part of the season. The club changed its mind after these goals. Jürgen called me, ‘Sorry Max. The decision to keep Origi. “Unfortunately, we won’t be able to transfer you,” he said. “My transfer to Liverpool did not happen at the last minute. I was very upset,” he said.

“FENERBAHÇE WITHOUT LIVERPOOL…”

Speaking about his departure from Fenerbahçe, Kruse said, “When I could not transfer to Liverpool, I decided to go outside of Germany. That’s why I went to Fenerbahçe. They did not pay our salaries when football could not continue due to the pandemic. There was a clause in my contract that I would be released if my salary was not paid. I did this immediately. I didn’t use it. Our salaries weren’t paid for 3 months. So I informed the club and asked for my salary to be paid. The club told me that my 8-week salary would be paid. I decided to end my contract and after this decision they called me and said, ‘Okay Max, we will pay the rest of the contract.’ I said, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t want to play for you anymore.’ Then I left Turkey immediately.”
