A 53-year-old truck driver was trapped in his truck on Friday night in a rear-end collision on the A2.

According to the Brandenburg police, the 53-year-old drove his truck into a truck driving in front of him between the Wollin and Brandenburg an der Havel (Potsdam-Mittelmark) junctions.

The man was removed from his vehicle by firefighters and taken to hospital with minor injuries. The other truck driver was not injured. The police estimated the damage to the 53-year-old’s truck at around 50,000 euros.

The A2 was completely blocked at the accident site for an hour. Due to the towing work, the right lane towards Potsdam was still closed in the morning hours. The roadway has since been cleared and is now fully open again.
