The 54-year-old abused Italian who was found seriously injured in Eindhoven last Tuesday has died of his injuries. The police reported this on Thursday. There is still a lot of uncertainty about what exactly happened.
The man was found seriously injured in a house on Bakkerstraat last Tuesday and rushed to hospital.
What happened remains largely unclear. In any case, the detectives seem certain that the Italian was already badly beaten last Monday. Earlier that day he arrived in Eindhoven by train. He may have come from Germany.
In the hours that followed, he would have hung out near the station and in the Oud Woensel district. Before he left for the house on Bakkerstraat, he paid a visit to someone in the Hemelrijken.
Possibly abused before
Investigators have not yet ruled out that the man had already been assaulted at that time. “If he was already injured before he arrived in Eindhoven, it is almost inevitable that this has been noticed.”
That is why people who may have seen the man or have camera images are asked to report. The Italian wore blue jeans and a dark jacket with a hood last Monday.
