Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s film is the favorite for the Film Academy Awards.
‘As Bestas’, Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s film has become the most nominated film of the 37th edition of the Goya Awards with a resounding 16 nominations, being represented in practically all categories. It is closely followed by ‘Modelo 77’, by Alberto Rodríguez, with 15 nominations and ‘Alcarràs’ and ‘Cinco lobitos’ with tied with 10.
“This year, more than ever, the reading of nominations is like a thriller,” said the president of the Film Academy Fernando Méndez-Leite. Indeed, given the variety (and quantity) of productions that had achieved critical and public prestige, this season it seemed more difficult to choose the nominees. Finally, ‘As Bestas’, ‘Alcarràs’, ‘Modelo 77’, ‘Cinco lobitos’ and ‘La maternal’, will compete for the Goya for best film.
