Hamilton, 37, has been silent since the last race in Abu Dhabi on December 12. The Mercedes driver lost the title fight to Max Verstappen there.
It is still unclear whether seven-time world champion Hamilton will continue. He still has a contract until 2023, but team boss Toto Wolff said on Thursday after the last race in Abu Dhabi that he doubted Hamilton could bring himself to continue his career. Since then, both Mercedes and the top driver have not commented on the much-discussed last race. The top team is awaiting the results of the FIA’s investigation into the state of affairs in Abu Dhabi. On Monday 14 February, all parties will discuss this with each other.
In any case, the Mercedes Formula 1 team will present its car for the new season on February 18: the W13. Mercedes has won the Constructors’ Championship for the past eight years. The racing stable also shared images of Hamilton during a visit to the factory in England in an explanation video about the new engine on Friday.
