Saku Mäenalanen scored two goals in last night’s NHL round. The Finnish striker’s second and third hits of the season lifted the Winnipeg Jets to a 7-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks

The first hit of Mäenalanen, who won both the Olympic and the World Cup gold in the Lions’ shirt this year, was to hit the backpack with a loose puck that bounced forward from the save.

The second goal was a personal display of skill by the Finnish striker. Mäenalanen, who was cooling down the left wing, loaded a fiery wrist shot from between the b-point and the wing right into the top corner of the goal. The Chicago weaver Petr Mrazek was powerless.

The second Finnish winner of the five-game round was the Arizona Coyotes Matias Maccelli. Arizona’s pitching machine scored 0+2, but the Coyotes lost to the Minnesota Wild 3-4.
