Six North Holland handball players in the provisional World Cup selection

For the first time in 62 (!) years, the Dutch handball men will participate in the World Cup in January 2023. National coach Staffan Olsson today announced his 35-man provisional selection. There are 6 players from North Holland.

Samir Benghanem, Jeffrey Boomhouwer, René de Knegt and Donny Vink from HV Aalsmeer can dream of the World Cup. This also applies to Evert Kooijman and Robin Nagtegaal (HV Volendam). The International Handball Federation (IHF) has awarded the Netherlands a wildcard for the World Championship.

The World Cup will be played in Poland and Sweden from January 12 to January 29. The handball men are in the group with Norway, North Macedonia and Argentina.
