This is how the fashion editor chose an outfit that was suitable for all days of the week, for everyday life and for parties. It wasn’t easy.

Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to dress up in a different outfit every day. Wearing the same clothes or clothes day after day has seemed restrictive and boring.
For me, clothes are a way to express myself and the feelings of each day. Sometimes you feel like wearing really casual clothes, and on another day, a more festive outfit calls.
I always have to be able to wear exactly the clothes that I want at that exact moment. For these reasons, the thought of wearing the same clothes for a whole week even seemed stressful at first.
“It took an embarrassingly long time to decide”
So what would I wear? What kind of outfit could I get through the whole week? Choosing an outfit took an embarrassingly long time and the choice produced great pain. I felt I would make the wrong choice though.
In addition to the office days, next week’s program would include coffee sessions with friends and one nicer dinner, almost like dating. The selected clothing items should therefore be suitable for everyday life as well as for parties.
Right from the start, I decided that I needed three different pieces of clothing: pants, a shirt and a jacket. Before the final decision, a feverish process of going through the clothes began.
I thought about which pieces of clothing would go well together, but would also look good separately. By changing the accessories, the whole look could be changed surprisingly much.

The material of the clothes is of primary importance
I also wanted to wear clothes that I would be comfortable in, because that is one of the most important things for me.
Silk pants were chosen for the legs and a knitted dress made of merino wool and cotton for the shirt. The wild card came from a colorful, cotton kimono, which I chose instead of a jacket.
All items of clothing were breathable and felt pleasant against the skin.

Under these clothes I wore an undershirt and tights. During the week, the clothes remained smelling good, although sometimes the stressed armpits took over.
The situation was resolved by changing the undershirt and airing the clothes on the balcony overnight.
A few quality products go a long way
Every time I ate I was nervous. I was afraid that something would fall on the clothes that I wouldn’t be able to clean without a washing machine. Fortunately, this did not happen. I probably ate more focused and without fuss than usual. Eating hosumatta was actually lovely.

During the experiment, I watched people’s eyes in case someone wondered why I was wearing the same clothes all the time.
However, I can say that nobody noticed anything. This is because with three pieces of clothing and varying accessories I was able to create very different looks.
The experiment showed that we don’t really need many clothes in quantity. A few quality products go a long way.
I have to admit that by the end of the week, the clothes started to get a little boring. The five days went really well, but I would have liked a change at the weekend. You should take a break from these clothes after trying them on, but not forever.

Capsule wardrobe
People nowadays have wardrobes full of clothes, even if you could create a capsule wardrobe with just a few items of clothing. A capsule wardrobe practically means a reduced wardrobe.
At its most limited, a capsule wardrobe can be created with a selection of only eight clothes. These items of clothing include a t-shirt, distressed jeans, a collared shirt, a blazer, a sweater, canvas pants, a dress and a trench coat.
