Krajcek hat-trick: Hougang United Singapore Cup Winners

Tampines Rovers defeated

A hat-trick from Kristijan Krajcek (17′, 57′, 79′) in the 3-2 win over Tampines Rovers saw Hougang United crowned Singapore Cup winners for the first time. For the Rovers, Taufik Suparno (39th) and Irfan Najeeb (47th) could only equalize.

Hougang United surprisingly threw champions in the semi-finals Albirex Niigata out of the tournament while top favorites Lion City Sailors were eliminated in the group stage. In the first leg of the semifinals, the Rovers celebrated the second highest win in tournament history with an 8-1 win over Balestier Khalsa. Top scorer was Kodai Tanaka (22) from Albirex Niigata with six goals.
